I'm very thrilled to inspire our community this month with a "two-for" POTM feature. This happily married duo has been and continues to be a pioneering force in the local youth running community. As a former coach of middle school track in Pleasanton, Lisa helped increase participation in public middle school track & field in the Tri-Valley area for many years. Kevin continues to coach one of the elite USATF youth track clubs
(Mt. Diablo Heat) and provides an unparalleled feeder program to the local high school running scene. Thank you for your service to others, commitment to your own health&fitness and for making us a part of YOUR healthcare team!
Get to know our POTM:
Why do you run?:
Kevin: I love to race and that requires being fit. I also enjoy chatting with friends on long runs.
Lisa:
I run because I like to feel fit and strong.

Favorite race distance?:
Kevin: 800m
Lisa: 10k

Favorite breakfast?:
Kevin:
Fried eggs over easy, hash browns and corned beef hash.
Lisa: Eggs (any style), roasted potatoes and sausage.

Favorite track/trail you’ve ever been to?:
Kevin: Favorite track is the Melbourne Olympic Track. Favorite trail is through the Giant Forest in Sequoia National Park.
Lisa: Pacific Spirit Park, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

A _______ a day keeps the doctor away:
Kevin: Run!
Lisa: glass of chardonnay!

Early bird or night owl?:
Kevin: Early bird! I'm usually up by 5:15 am.
Lisa: early bird.

Run with or without music?:
Kevin: Without.
Lisa: Without.

A book you think everyone should read?:
Kevin: Great Ideas of Classical Physics - covers the basics of how the world around us works.
Lisa: Not an avid reader. Love to read cookbooks and cooking magazines.

How has working with Dr. Thornberry helped you achieve your health and fitness goals?:
Kevin: She got my hamstring healthy enough to race 800m and make the US and World Rankings.
Lisa: Dr. Thornberry has helped show me that drills and stretching really do work and you can retrain your muscles/body to run without pain.
